The main street of Eumundi had its name changed to Memorial Drive fifty years ago, in 1976. It was originally called Gympie Street, and was later part of the original Bruce Highway. But most people in town just referred to it as 'Main Street'.
The main street included the business hub of the town from the outset, with the first building in town being the pub, followed by a general store in 1891.
But, of course, the buildings and the businesses that they hold have changed many, many times over those thirteen decades.
