For most of the town's history, the block that became 69 Memorial Drive was a private residence. In the second half of the 20th Century, it was the home of Dick Caplick - one of Eumundi's better known characters.
Everyone new Dick Caplick when he was alive, and the town's park is named after him, as is the road that connects the Memorial Drive to the Eumundi-Noosa Road. His parents moved from Germany at the end of the 19th Century before he was born in 1893, arriving Eumundi in 1900. He was an expert tree cutter, a farmer, a war veteran, and a wealth of knowledge and stories. Later in life, after felling hundreds of trees, he became an avid gardener and tree-planter.
During the 1990s the house was moved to the rear of the property to make room for a commercial premises at the front. But the old garage was also used for commercial purposes and became the office of solicitor Gerald Rissen, who lived behind it.
In the 21st Century the old garage became a shop for Earth 2 Soul and Cinnabar Soul – a crystal and gift shop, which became Cinnabar Witch, who are now located in the Old Bank Centre down the street.
The larger premises was home to the restaurant Bohemian Bungalow from 2013, rebranded as The Bungalow in 2021, and then as the home of the Tiki Bar in 2024, which had moved from its previous residence in the Pavillion area, about one hundred metres down the hill. Both Wildfire Fitness and Barber Tina's began operation at 69 Memorial Drive in 2025.
